All mayor museums are 5 mins away by car as well as several sports arenas like Houston Astros home baseball stadium, Minute Maid park.
If Music or Ballet is your cup of tea, the concert halls are 10 mins. away.
Easy access to I-45 Gulf Freeway, 288 and the 59.
Enough restaurants to please the most demanding of palates or if you feel like a casual concert al fresco with a pizza and craft beers, Axelrad is 5 min walk from the front door of the house.
E. Baldwin Park only a block away, with bikes you can rent and discover the many trails all around.
Also close by is Hermann Park, a large outdoor area with walking and biking paths, a botanical garden, a public golf course and driving range, and an outdoor theater featuring musical performances of all types, all free and under the stars, home of the Miller Outdoor Theater.
Near by are the museums of Fine Arts and Natural History, Childrens museum, the Holocaust Museum and The Buffalo Soldiers museum. So you can stay as busy as you want to be in Midtown Houston.
Places to eat that are close by are Spicy Girl, a Chinese / Thai sit down restaurant, next to it is a Hawaiian poke bowl place, for breakfast and lunch is the Breakfast Klub that serves mountains of food in a very southern way, grits, chicken & waffles plus other more traditional breakfast selections.
There is usually a line out the door but it moves fast. For a fine dining Italian meal, Damians with an extensive wine list and excellent dishes to choose from.A Korean BBQ restaurant that seems to always be busy. There are Pho noodle restaurants and several good Mexican restaurants, including El Tiempo Cantina, about a 10 minute drive from the house.
